About REACH Nexus
We are an implementation science group working to solve public health inequities.
Transforming access to care through technology that empowers people to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
REACH Nexus is part of MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael's Hospital, Unity Health Toronto, and is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Our mission is to ensure that every person in Canada has equitable access to testing, care, and treatment—no matter who they are, where they live, or what barriers they face. Health care should meet people where they are, with compassion, innovation, and cultural safety at its core.

We are transforming how people access care by bringing new and accessible STBBI tests to market, leading Canada’s first national HIV self-testing initiative, and deploying smart vending machines that provide free health and wellness supplies in communities across the country. Each innovation is grounded in partnership—with community organizations, people with lived experience, and health providers who understand the realities on the ground.
Through our stigma-reduction campaigns, we are amplifying the voices and stories of people living with HIV to challenge misconceptions and inspire empathy. Our work is about more than technology—it’s about equity, dignity, and empowerment.
By combining research, innovation, and community leadership, we are breaking down structural barriers, reshaping systems of care, and ensuring everyone in Canada has the tools and support they need to protect their health and thrive.
