This innovative program brings confirmatory HIV/STBBI testing and care directly to remote and underserved communities.
Using the GeneXpert system (a mobile lab with PCR testing capabilities to confirm HIV and other STBBI conditions), we can deliver accurate results in under 90 minutes, allowing people to begin treatment right away—or at a time that works best for them, in their own community.
This approach removes long-standing roadblocks to testing and care.
By partnering with trusted community-based organizations, Rapid TLC ensures testing is accessible, judgment-free, and rooted in local knowledge. These partners know their communities best and are able to connect people quickly to culturally appropriate care. Our goal is simple: close the gap between testing and treatment so that more people can access care faster—and ultimately achieve an undetectable HIV viral load (U=U) or treatment for their STBBI.
Through real-time, anonymous data collection, Rapid TLC provides valuable insights into who we’re reaching and where.
Using GeneXpert technology for rapid, lab-quality testing, the program ensures timely and accurate results in remote and underserved communities. The data collected will help identify testing gaps, inform equitable expansion of Rapid LC across Canada, and strengthen local capacity to deliver faster diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of HIV and STBBIs.
